Well, that doesn't really matter. My point is that Spamton began acting weird when he started spending time in the basement and, according to the Swatchling, "became obsessed" with the NEO body. That was almost certainly due to the Shadow Crystal's influence on him.

You know, I haven't seen anyone talk about this, but Jevil and Spamton don't turn to stone in other Dark Worlds. Granted, those two are usually in their item forms, but being in your inventory doesn't prevent Darkners from turning to stone, as seen with Lancer in the weird route. Does having greater knowledge of how Dark Worlds function allow you to bypass certain rules? That would explain why specifically Jevil, Spamton, and Ralsei never turn to stone.

Jevil and Spamton made me plenty happy already. Now all that's left is for an actual good payoff to the buildup that Gaster has had for nearly a decade. I don't envy Toby's position, but I also can't say I feel too much sympathy when it's taken this long for the game to be finished.
