The refball became so blatant even the normies were discussing it and as much as the league really wanted that threpeat they read the room and realized that everyone who wasn't a Chiefs fan overtly despised this team and that there was no point in shilling them to another dubious owl win just for everyone to spend all offseason talking about how crooked the refs were.

Even the Taylor Swift thing backfired, they thought it would make the Cheifs more likeable but instead people just started booing her whenever she popped up. The mass hatred was so intense they couldn't ignore it any longer and let Mahomes get lit up as a sort of an olive branch to all the fans they'd started to push away.

Seriously, how else do you explain the qb who gets slurped by officials every fucking game for two years suddenly being allowed to be hit with impunity in the biggest game of the year? They pulled the rug out from under the Chiefs and I doubt they warned them first. Not complaining btw, that shit was fucking hilarious and I hope that's how it is going forward.
