Because "industrialized society" is not natural and makes people miserable. The misery was kept to a low level because the falling birth rates made labor more valuable. Most people don't feel that way anymore. A lot of people have nothing, they have nothing to lose, and the system not only doesn't help them, but seems designed to keep them fucked forever. People like that don't care if they burn it all down.
