There is a definite end for any build though. Your build is like a mountain, eventually you're going to reach the peak and theres nothing left to scale. Thats when you either start a new character with new build or you burn out from the genre for the next 4-6 months and play something else. The PoE Leagues launching 3-4 times a year is very smart because the half a year addiction cycle was already present in Diablo 2. People came back to Diablo 2 every Ladder reset and every 6 months. They played a couple of weeks, burned out and came back after another half a year.
