At what point during 7th gen did we all know it was downhill from here? Literally no one had faith in Vidya by the end of the gen but I want to know what the definitive death knell was.

I don't have much experience with visual novels so I'll skip over AA. As for Zelda, since you enjoyed Ocarina of Time so much, then go play Majora's Mask. It's a direct sequel. A Link Between Worlds is also my favorite top-down Zelda games. If you enjoy on-rails shooters, then Starfox 64 is fantastic. If you're a fan of Final Fantasy, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call is SO GOOD. If you enjoy platformers, Super Mario 3D Land might surprise you with how good a 3DS platformer can be. If you enjoy tactics games, then Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is god tier. Easily my favorite in the franchise. Metroid Samus Returns is also an excellent Metroid-vania. Dragon Quest 4-9 are available natively in English on the DS/3DS. Take your pick, they're all fantastic traditional JRPG's.

There's something for everyone on the 3DS and it truly excels in so many different genres. I'd definitely take a look through the thread and see what others have recommended
