I don't want to be Japanese. I'm not even into anime or anything. I just think it's useful that umami has been adopted like ninja, dojo, typhoon etc because more descriptive words makes my language more rich and diverse. It's obviously and objectively clear why this word was adopted and included and not just ignored to use some other word like meaty or nutty which are the closest English alternatives.

And again the thing with savoury is it isn't even all that close to umami. They overlap a lot, but are truly and distinctly different for anyone who is literate and has a brain.

But that's the point. They do this on purpose which is why this thread gets made over and over and over. Their plan is to repeat a lie so often that real people get tired of fighting for the truth. This is all far more nefarious thsn just misunderstanding.

No they are NOT savoury. Look at the definition of the word. >>21433260 that does not describe either cream cheese or ricotta. Now look at the definition of umami, that does describe cream cheese or ricotta. You are continually misusing the word savoury and trying to claim it means things it doesn't. You're a fucking ESL bitch probably in Isreal or some shit doing this because you're too fucking stupid to learn what words actually mean.

Part of what is so useful about umami being adopted into English is that it's a whole new description of a different taste so both can be unique and precise in their own ways. It's the glory of English.
