I don't know how old you are, but you need to quit wasting time investing in people who don't reciprocate.

I am 33 & 10+ years of giving to people who effectively spit in your face, that resentment has been engraved into my soul to the point I find it extremely difficult connecting with anybody. if/when the time ever comes where I find someone who appreciates & reciprocates my giving nature, they're not going to get the best of what I could have given because of my distrust & apathy.

TL;DR protect yourself or you will be jaded when the right one comes along
