Daitaku Helios, the Gyaru Honse, Factoids
>Smiles in every single race. He received the nickname “smiling horse” or “dumb horse” because of this.
>In the game, she smiles no matter which place she ends up finishing in a race.
>Fans think he can read the news. Every time he is favored in a race, he loses; when he is not favored, he wins.
>This contributes to her gyaru personality because gyarus love to stay trendy.
>Formed the “baka escaping duo” with Mejiro Palmer. If they join a race together, they are always the one leading. However, since Daitaku Helios is essentially a mile racer, he usually drops out first.
>They were the ringleaders of the 1992 Arima Kinen or, as fans call it, the “BakArima Kinen”.
>He seems to look attractive to fillies and mares, but it somehow does not work on Daiichi Ruby. The contrast between him and Daiichi Ruby is huge (from appearance, pedigree to personalities. Daiichi Ruby came from GI winning parents while Daitaku Helios’s were the opposite. So she’s usually portrayed as an ojou-sama and he’s a country bumpkin), so they became a very popular pair for horse racing fans to ship through various means. In reality, they never mated.
>He usually ran well whenever Daiichi Ruby raced, which added to the shipping fuel.
>They have their own popular fan comic too, HeliosRuby: A Love Story, in Umanari Ichi Furlong Theatre.
>In the world of Uma Musume, Daitaku Helios fell head over heels for Daiichi Ruby upon first meeting her, calls her ‘her type’ and asks for her to become her “schmoopy-poo”
>This leaves her tragically ignorant of the fact that Mejiro Palmer is in love with her
>Once acted dead and scared the shit out of his grooms.
>In the world of Uma Musume, she sometimes does this to freak friends and trainers out.
>In her hall conversation, she mentions that she has a “crazy aunt” named “Ya-chan”, this refers to Kaburaya O, the horse’s actual uncle, nicknamed “the insane runner”.

In Uma's lore? Not really. They'll 'hint' at it (Agnes Tachyon being Daiwa Scarlet's father is translated via Agnes being doting on Scarlet in numerous events), or with the likes of Kitasan saying Bakushin feels familiar (Bakushin is his grand-father). But they never actually out-right say it beyond the Mejiro's and Satono's.
