Glad you liked it! I think it deserves to be mentioned alongside The Thing and The Fly when it comes to 80's horror remakes. I wouldn't quite put it above Mishima, but it is definitely top 3 Schrader. Also I have the soundtrack on vinyl, its so damn good.

I dont think so, and the only horror films she did were To The Devil, A Daughter and Cat People. Other than those most of her career was mostly art house-y stuff with a couple of action movies sprinkled in. I think the real missed opportunity is that she was never a Bond girl, she would have been perfect.
