Toby is going to have to pull some herculean shit to make whatever Asgore apparently did justify all this. Is Asgore going to end up having beaten Toriel and the kids to make it all make sense or something? That would seem to me like Toby backed himself into a corner so he had to fundamentally change Asgore's character to get back out of it. Either writing Asgore getting shit on so much was a mistake or Toriel is actually just a shitty person, we did see some of that at the end of chapter 4 so that could be the way it's going. Maybe Toby wants to flip the script on Asgore being in the wrong in Undertale to Toriel being wrong now.

Also (You) are shown to be able to operate a soul outside of a body and in either world, so I don't see any reason why a monster soul operating some kind of construct vessel wouldn't be able to go between dimensions freely as well. Plus he's physically weak/ill just like Kris is whenever the soul inhabiting him is gone. Never mind the fact that the Knight opens up its body at one point revealing that there is nobody actually inside of it, which there would have to be if it were a lightner wearing it like a suit. Even if I'm wrong about my theory, I think that some concepts within are accurate.
