You guys are really underselling how good TOS is.
>it's the most 60s thing ever
It's one of the most well-written television shows of all time at its best. The first season is peerless in Star Trek and consider it's the first one ever, it really is the most remarkable achievement of the franchise. The first half of S2 is great then Gene Coon leaves as showrunner and the network starts meddling more. S3 is a network meddle fest but still has a few good episodes amidst the pure camp.
But if you watch it, in my opinion you'll see Star Trek at its highest highs in terms of writing and acting and proof of concept. You'll also notice that a lot of the pop culture axioms regarding the show are pure fiction, like the idea of Kirk being this wild cowboy ladies man -- he is the perfect captain, a calculating professional who puts his duty first at every turn. It's beyond "worth watching;" it's Star Trek.

based noticer.
my entire view on the importance of friendship comes from kirk. they're the family you choose. i don't know why most people are so casual about retaining friendships and so fast to let people drift apart.
