>"erm you're just being passive aggressive, chud"
Anyone that's spent any time researching human protein requirements and protein quality will immediately be able to tell that "balanced" diets are insufficient for optimal metabolic function, much less for body builders. There is a reason everyone has to chug down protein shakes - all foods except meat (and even then the vast majority of meats) do not provide sufficient protein / calorie ratios to fit into a "balanced" diet, maintain healthy weight, and get optimal protein intake when you're chugging down 1000+ calories a day of empty carbs.

If you want to spend every day eating canned tuna and chicken breast and protein shakes just to function and build muscle, go for it. But don't be surprised when other people look at that and tell you you're a retard and that the concept of a "balanced" diet is stupid.

>yes, why would you think otherwise?
Because thinking that way is retarded and completely ignores the fundamentals of why you even need to eat. Your body requires sustenance and nutrients from food for bodily functions. You are not going to get enough protein, healthy fats, and vitamins from eating 1500 calories of potato chips compared to 1500 calories of meat and veggies. As soon as you find out about "protein quality" and mineral absorption, CICO goes right out the window. Not every food is equal, not every calorie is equal, and hormones like insulin determine whether or not you're going to lose weight.
You can choose to eat the 1500 calories of potato chips, your body won't be able to process them all, most of it is going to get stored as fat because of the massive insulin spikes you'll be getting, and at the end of the day you're still going to be hungry because your body is starving for protein and vitamins. Meanwhile if you ate the meat and veggies you would absorb almost all of the nutrients which would go towards building muscle and other metabolic functions. And since your insulin won't be spiking as much, any excess fat or protein your body can't store will either get pissed or shit out.
