If you have foreign immigration, the only way to ensure they'll be productive is to not give them any gibs.
In that way, you either work or starve to death.
And this does lead to lower production costs, which prevents companies going overseas (since production costs are the major reason for doing so).
But if you add the other aspects of Mexican immigration, mostly the genetic aspect (inevitable white-Mexican interbreeding), lower average IQ in the population, possible higher crime rates (possible, because if they have to work to survive, they'll think 10 times before doing anything illegal) - the overall net result for the nation is probably negative.
TL;DR
In economic aspects, immigration CAN be good, like Friedman said, but overall, long-term, it's negative.
Pic. shows that if you want cheap labour, just lax the immigration policy for the Ukies - they'd do the cheap work, and they'd eventually rise on the ladder, due to their higher IQ than Mexicans.
