They have ADDICTING gameplay, which isn't the same thing when you're talking about grinding for resources and shit to power up characters that will just be obsolete when the new meta pick comes out. And that's the problem with Bombergirl:
The cuteness is a huge factor, sure, but it's not the sole reason that the game is still running.
Plenty of gachas died in the past because the gameplay sucked so much that even the designs couldn't save them. Bombergirl, in comparison, is quite unique with the role system for every character. Every match feels different, although still being bomberman at it's core.

Most of the characters are pretty balanced, there's no real meta in what you wanna pick, this isn't lol or dota.
The 4 starters that you get for example are very decent until you can unlock the rest of the roster.
