Towards the end of an early chapter, Chesterton mentions a few books he read about secular summaries of the lives of Jesus Christ and St. Jeanne. He finds it funny how the "respectful" ones were still just as mocking (if not more so) as the ones that meant complete disrespect since they kept going out of their way to "explain" the supernatural elements, i.e. "Jeanne's visions were caused by bread mold". It'a as if the authors could not fully connect their beliefs and their actions.
He also writes a nice paragraph about how amazing Jeanne is, and he concludes the chapter by talking about how Jesus, the Lord she worships, is even more amazing.
