I think the cutscenes do the game a desservice sometimes because there are so many other soulful things about the game that go under the radar.
>Characters you rarely see are fully playable like Gaimon and Richie
>(simple but fun) monthly minigames like multiplayer Yagara races and cooking for Luffy
>Ship collecting and ship battles (I think these are shit, but I appreciate the effort)
>newly introduced characters get their own events, Ace for example got challenges where he fought marines, other pirates, had a tower defense ship battles with his striker, all leading up to a battle with blackbeard
>combo ultimates with allies
>beautiful menu animations for new characters
I think the pvp combat sucks because it turns into this mix of a beat-em-up and a fighting game and it's all awkward, and because the game has been too f2p friendly they've been trying to overcompensate recently to bring back the whales so the game doesn't get shut down.
