Really weird everyone except Chi Chi jumped to a power level of over 1000, and then it turns out Korin trained under Kami because of some upcoming threats, and his own power is now 2000... Or even that power level of 1030 that Maple sensed on occasion, and while power isn't everything, unless that guy was holding back, I don't know how he can deal with 5 kids almost at his level. Speaking of those kids, Krillin is so far the most sidelined one. Barely talks, barely fights, pretty much is never in Maple's group, to the point I forget he's there even when he is on her group... So far the story is just Maple getting gains, Acer benefiting from them since he's generally glued to her, and Goku acting as her sidekick. She sometimes talks with Chichi, and Chichi got to defeat Buyon, but Chichi still feels like she's just there, and again, Krillin is really sidelined...

I don't mind a fight focus as long as you try to emulate Toriyama 's style of drawing fights. Fighting and Dragon Ball are intrinsically linked. This is the fight series. Although dbz was very good at building up to fights. For as stupid as it may seem, "hype" and buildup to a fight are almost as important as the fight itself. It seems I am one of few people who realize this . No one cares about two nobodies fighting even if it looks cool. You have to know exactly what's at stake a bit of the history behind the two people. Give me some feats. Compare them to other guys. Toriyama was a fucking master at this. Buu one shotting dabura is a good example. That bitch himself was hyped up as an equal to cell and gave Gohan a run for his money.

It's debatable how much of what you're describing was in the original manga. Of course, things could always be more inspired and have more mythological roots (except journey to the west. That gets referenced enough). Fights by comparison are easy. A monkey can imagine a fight.

Jiji certainly snuck in a lot of pantyshots. I wish he leaned more into the ryona angle but I guess he couldn't find trace material for that. Because the plot sucks. It was established that old saiyans are willing to kill someone who's no longer useful when the other loses the fight, but Gripi didn't kill a human she fought. Not to mention Gripi only got a personality by the time she was fighting Gohan, before it she was quiet and did not react at all to the fights, and considering how she reacts later, it makes no sense.
