It could be used to play a character. But nobody does this besides a few rare indies, so its moot.
It could be used just for the performer to enjoy. Yeah maybe its autistic but people like writing down that they're a alien monster or someshit and then going to stream into the avatar of said alien monster. But corpos force you to take their avatar and then write your lore into you, so what's the point then?
