>back at their place Isher (dragon-looking chick Kass recruited) warns Kass that Indrel go completely apeshit if outside their hive too long
>before he can process this, the trinket explodes, polymorphing him into a female Yinglet
>female Yinglets are typically only found in their enclave, so authorities drag his ass to the Trademaster quickly
>Kass makes a deal to become the Human-Yinglet ambassador in exchange for all his buddies getting better digs
>Kal, a Baxxid (bone worm), explodes a thief that was stealing from his human waifu
>as a slap on the wrist punishment, he gets assigned to be Kass's bodyguard
>Yannit, the humanaboo Indrel, meets Kal and goes apeshit due to her culture beating fear/hatred of Baxxid into them from childhood
That's the short and skinny of it. There's a lot that happens in between. The world-building is pretty damn good
