No it doesn't retard. Do you realize just how new the modern environment is? We live in a world that our brains are not biologically adapted to live in at all. In the past before easy access to birth control and abortion, wanting to have sex was enough to get people to breed. There were also a lot more economic incentives to reproduce since people were reliant on their kids to take care of them in their old age and work on farms. So in a nutshell, people in the past didn't necessarily need an innate desire for kids in and of themselves to have kids. None of that is the case now. What's happening now is we're in the process of a massive genetic bottleneck where people with little or no desire for kids are being purged from the gene pool.
