can i get a vibe check?

I've been attempting to learn art to draw my niche waifu (who has zero artwork) for a month or two, but I feel like I haven't moved beyond the level of toddler scribbles. Rendering and shading seem like incomprehensible black magic. How do you shake the feeling of being repulsed by anything that comes out from your pen?
