>Also she's one hell of a storyteller/historian/teacher/spiritual leader
>”And that… was how my father lived.”
Quite honestly the perfect conclusion for the story.

>The argument would really need to be that it could sap Asura's power faster than he could increase it
I think this argument would be only sustainable for just killing him, like weakening him enough to get the killing blow. Keeping him dead would be the main issue. Sapping Asura’s power or killing him is not enough to completely put him down, which was basically the whole point of his game. He only truly died because his Wrath was gone and he killed the source of Mantra.
>but there's really no evidence that it does it to a degree meaningful enough to affect whatever it strikes
Yeah, in the episode I think they black boxed it being able to drain “beings stronger than Asura” without any actual justification or even specifying WHO. Hell, they think Mantra itself is spiritual or soul energy or whatever, but it’s only that way through resonance with the demigods’ mantra reactors or a priestess like Mithra manipulating it. In its pure state, it resembles vibrations which the BoO can’t drain. Asura can fight without a reactor too as in the manga and the same way Yasha in the game can fight without his reactor against Asura in their final fight.
