I guess unless it's someone like nishino flower or urara the fans very likely ship trainer x uma relationships in general.
And even so if it were purely one-sided with urara or nishino acting lovey dovey towards their trainer after each race the fans would probably eat it up even harder because of how taboo it looks with the age gap
