It is literally part of the Mantle minigame. Kris has to kill both Ralsei and Susie to get the power to proceed. On the weird route, "the rest" just gets expanded.

It will be bad no matter which route to the prophecy you take, but it explains everything. Except maybe Ralsei thinking that it can be somehow changed with kindness. But Ralsei is aware of (you), so who knows what kind of logic he could be applying, especially how quick he is to coddle (you) and give you praise.

>Getting called Krismas
>Christianity-inspired religion of Deltarune has a "Christmas"
Might be relevant. Toby has thought about religion in Deltarune enough to mention that it has no sin, i.e. they don't believe in free will. Is the Kris being used in place of Christ going to come up?

Toby? Anyone? I'm not a car guy.

To me, the Knight (and his co-conspirators, which might include Gaster) are trying to derail the Prophecy using Shadow Crystals.

>you don't end up in a Vessel, a Cage with human parts and soul, but Kris
>Jevil is just locked away... somewhere (The Heroes defeat the King and stop the dragon)
>Spamton shows up as a cutscene to offer us a side quest. (The heroes do battle in chariots to save the Queen)
>Roaring Knight shows up as an unannounced, seemingly unwinnable last boss fight. (The heroes travel among the islands and catch a glimpse of a lost land)
>Gerson is a massively important character, and was offered a Crystal, but refused to use it. (A great smith gives the heroes a terrible weapon.)
Their interference is getting more brazen and direct with each chapter. Next chapter's boss is clearly Asgore, and the Gerson's book is based on the Prophecy. "The vast garden is charred in an inferno of jealous." What is more brazen than offering a Shadow Crystal to a very important character? Outright forcing one into one. Asgore will go schizo, and not by choice. Mark my words.
