I replayed Galaxy recently to 100% and I honestly don't get the hype for it unless you're just remembering it for its art and music which were both admittedly great.
>Mario controls like fucking ass, especially on Planetoids
>the camera is fucking dogshit, easily worse than Mario 64's
>Mario carries 0 momentum through anything, movement is easily the least satisfying of any 3D Mario
>Powerups are handled terribly and are generally just unfun, especially the Spring
>Level design itself is generally pretty boring
>Ending is just fucking weird and unnecessary. Could have just had Mario save Peach and go home, but instead it's needlessly dramatic as the whole fucking Galaxy is recreated
