Not even a Melee tourneyfag, but nothing will beat the jump from N64 to Melee. You can argue about which game plays better, but when comparing sequels and raising the bar, Melee made leaps and bounds of improvements

I loved every entry in Smash, but none of them wowed me like Melee did. Only thing I can recall that came close was Sonic being announced for Brawl.
