Well, at least we owned it for several centuries, more than the USA.
>>212973534
We already had been an Empire for 400 years. Empires don´t last forever. Spain has been more powerful and important (a world Empire for 400 years and the most powerful country in the world for 150 years) than what the USA has been (just a world superpower for 60 years)

In fact we named that ocean: Oceano Pacífico and did things like this.

LOOOOL.

We are probably the best country in the world (or Top3) in quality of life all things considered. If it was not for the worst politicians on earth that are everyday trying to destroy us we would be a paradise.

People only speak about America but we also did this in Asia. Just with this there are no other nations able to compare with our Faustian spirit. We named that ocean btw.

And also in sciences (just 3):
Santiago Ramón y Cajal – Father of modern neuroscience (late 19th – early 20th century)

"Ramón y Cajal proved that neurons are individual units, laying the foundation for modern neuroscience."

Severo Ochoa – Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine (1959)
Discovered mechanisms of RNA synthesis.
"Ochoa's work on genetic information flow was fundamental to molecular biology."

CRISPR gene editing – Spanish participation
Spanish scientists have contributed to advancing CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technologies, especially in agricultural and biomedical applications. CRISPR was discovered and named by a Spaniard: Mojica.

People don´t realize how massive the adventures of Conquest were during the Spanish Empire. All of this done in wooden ships.

This can only be achieved by the descendants of Atlantis which it is in Spain.
