The beginning of the end more like. The generation where developement costs started ballooning to insane levels and AA studios were dying. The generation that defined the 3rd person cinematic movie game. The generation that REALLY tried chasing realism with brown and bloom. The generation where even jocks really started playing vidya because of COD and shit. There have been of course some better moments after that but ultimately the spiral goes downwards. PS and XBOX don't have killer apps anymore and their consoles are obsolete out of the gate because they will eventually just port everything to PC. Nintendo keeps shitting out Nintendo stuff, which is good if you happen to like it. Consoles had their place in the sun, now they are obsolete. PS360 era was the blow that we never fully recovered from.
