true, to add to your point I think the Man Behind The Tree isnt Gaster
in the ps5 version you get achievements, and they are very clearly gaster talking to you
if you finish a chapter WITHOUT collecting the egg you get an achievement "FINISHED WITHOUT ISSUE"
but if you collect the egg in a chapter you dont get this achievement
I think FRIEND is Gaster's foil
