I just found out that "bear" actually means "brown one", most Germanic languages refused to use a proper noun for the creature and called it things like "honey eater". In Greek they were called "Arktos". Shocking. Like a name for a Bizarro Kratos. So I looked into what "tos" meant, "great". "Kra" means "power", so "Kratos" means "Great Power". Very intriguing. So I wondered what "ark" could be and turns out it comes from a noun meaning "defense". A great power vs a great defense.
