I'm becoming fixated on the missed opportunity of Shadow. The conceit of his character has real world historical roots in the nuclear age and development of the atomic bomb; Project Shadow is just the Manhattan Project. The more I think about it, the weirder it is that his character just doesn't engage with any of the morality of philosophy of nuclear weapons like mutually assured destruction, disarmament, etc. It really feels like he should have kept fighting Gerald's fucked up WMDs meant to destroy the world like a gritty Mega Man.

But that's not Eggman Nega. Movie Gerald is based off the scrapped idea from Shadow 05 where Gerald was actually still alive and wanted to use Shadow to destroy humanity. Infact, you can still see this in the final game with the pure dark route where Shadow randomly decides to carry Gerald's wish to destroy the planet.
