>e33 has a great story with actual characters
Maelle's final relationship event has Verso outright admit he watched Gustave die and she forgave him INSTANTLY and went back to bantering two lines later
The game consists of multiple points where There are numerous conflicts throughout the story about Verso's motivation being literally destroying their plane of existence that everyone gets over by the next scene and just commits to the idea of "we'll cross that bridge when we come to it" because writing characters like humans with a sense of continuity is difficult and Sandfall didn't even bother.
Lune/Sciel get forced epic moments against the Axons which are completely unwarranted, undeserved and add nothing to their actual characters purely because the devs play JRPGs and have seen it in action but couldn't put the idea of winding support character development adding and furthering the main plot into practice.
The character writing in Exped33 is DOG SHIT and the idea it's good is 100% forced by the fact that they have some mature theming and that most RPG newfags haven't seen before. Verso is a good character, Maelle is a good character, Renoir is a good character. The rest are either completely insignificant talking heads that could be removed or actively, detrimentally bad.
