Just play on normal? No one says you have to play the game on a harder difficulty. On normal I'm pretty sure you can beat the game with just the auto level up thing. Don't even have to think about it.
Honestly just in general, this game somehow has both great modular difficulty settings and also players who somehow thinks they're owed a free win on non-journalist settings. It's bizarre
