I suppose you could avoid the fire support reaction fire by shooting your rapiers first and forcing me to protect the medusas with auxilia so they're no longer eligible for fire support but that just means both my medusas need to shoot you turn 2 to make up for it and you kill an extra 3 aux.

That forces a coinflip panic test I can clear with The Legates command Vox while he cowers in a corner behind a dracosan and desperately hopes you didn't do something smart like bring your own barrage weapons.

There's plenty of shit marines can bring which fuck up the SA but Volkite Culverins aren't it, Heavy Bolters are so much scarier to me and they're cheaper too.

My players never bother taking any fights they're not absolutely certain they can win. They have wasted an entire session doing nothing but talk to each other and plan for an upcoming fight several times.

I'm at the point where I'm considering just feeding them an anticlimax for their final confrontation so they can experience even a fraction of how bored I have been watching them strategise.
