They were kind of on the right track with some of the EGO gifts, like giving their counters shields.
They really need a team leader ID ie Ricardo with some serious power, that has enough incentive to warrant going all in on envy over every other resource. That, and they could also release some more envy-exclusive EGO like hex nail Faust. That would mitigate the downside some.
