There are 3 large maps at release out of 9 maps total (Mirak, Sobek and Firestorm) and only 2 of those new maps, Firestorm being a remake. It's a pretty pathetic effort for a game that was historically about giant environments.

There's 3 'large' maps, but the other 6 are all close-quarters meatgrinders. Notably there are zero (0) large maps being included in the beta. Next weekend they're including one of the infantry only New York maps. Could not be more obvious they're only interested in attracting COD players and couldn't give less of a fuck about Battlefield's historical fanbase.

Firestorm is only one of three combined arms maps. The other 6 are small infantry-focused maps like the beta. Some have no vehicles present at all. This is why people are calling it a COD clone, because it basically is.
