A country with free speech literally cannot lose the throne. Every country without free speech regresses. Why? Because knowing the problem is half the solution. Countries without free speech like china hide the problems instead of solving them. If you don't solve problems you cannot improve anything. If you can't improve anything you can only fall further behind. The US is the only country that will always fix its problems, no matter what they are, because it's the only country where pointing out problems is part of the culture and is protected by the law.
