We still keep AWACS as being cute girls, but the player character is the pilot of the Drone Mother-ship. Entirely defenseless, so they both have to do the mission and protect you. Gameplay would involve tactical movement over the skies, and it'd be 3D to account for altitude differences.
And then, and THEN! All the girls refer to (You) endearingly as Mama, Mother, Haha, or similar terms. Because you're the MOTHERSHIP.
