>Do you really want people who grew up with Super and Daima as their intro to Dragon Ball?
at this point, yes. i would take that over these old, out-of-touch fucks who think the series should've ended at Freeza. i liked Heroes more than Super or Daima, anyway. these old guys treat Dragon Ball like they're writing new issues of Archie & Jughead, not one of the most popular and world renowned shonen in the history of anime.

apparently the people who own this hoe don't care about lessons or messages or imparting meaning to the universe. they're just trying to kill time and make a buck. we've been Pokemon'd.

yes. take a break for a couple years, finish One Piece, then come back with an actual plan and vision for Dragon Ball – instead of stumbling forward with their shoes tied together like they have for the last decade. get these niggas who think Dragon Ball is devoid of value and should've ended after Freeza the fuck away from the franchise.

that would definitely be part of the idea, in a perfect world. i want to see Shueisha step back for a couple years to finish One Piece and write a treatment for the next Dragon Ball story that incorporates and honors all the best parts of its legacy. and i think Heroes has qualities and story beats to contribute to that. i want them to have a vision and a plan. flying by the seat of our asses was one thing when Toriyama was around to word of God stuff, but i would like to see the series treated with more care and reverence and forethought in his absence.

i hate, hate, hate to draw this comparison – but i would really like it if some sort of Japanese Kevin Feige or James Gunn or Dave Filloni (Clown Wars Dave, not so much Disney+ Dave) could be appointed in the next year or two and begin sheparding the franchise to a more cohesive, synergistic place. just somebody with a vision, ya know? i don't need "Phases," or a big "upcoming projects" timeline. just somebody who really appreciates Dragon Ball. for more than it being a way to "distract yourself from what's going on around you." somebody who doesn't think the series should have ended at Freeza, and that it has nothing else to offer.

I have never felt that this franchise is more cooked than I did when I read the recent "EVERYTHING IS CANON" and "Dragon Ball is meaningless, it has no overarching message or methodology, it should've ended after Freeza" statements. It's tragic that such a beloved IP has been left in the hands of people who look down their nose at it and don't care about its legacy.

And again, Torishima reinforcing that there's nothing to learn from Dragon Ball and feels like it should have ended after Frieza.
