It's not about the money. It's that you have no drive, no passion for anything, and are generally weak willed, give up easily, and never try hard. So what if you gamed the system and are making easy money with little effort, he doesn't care about that. Parents want to see their children to grow up to be successful not just financially but in life. You aren't doing anything. You merely exist. He sees someone who hasn't accomplished anything, hasn't earned respect from his community, and probably has no friends. He's not proud of you because you've done nothing to make him proud. He does love you; but he's not happy with your character.
