Why did 3DS prices skyrocket and never go back down?

The New 3DS was such a wasted opportunity. Nintendo released one exclusive game (Xenoblade Chronicles) and like 10 SNES games and then abandoned it.

I want to install CFW on my New 3DS but I heard that 3DSes have issues playing installed DS and GBA games if you use an SD card bigger than 128GB, is this true?

I just jailbroke my 3DS and want to add some games I've never tried before. What are, in your opinion, the best and/or your favorite game on the 3DS console? I've already played all the Pokemon and Monster Hunter games
