It's only ever been a vehicle to shill their own in-house stuff.
That's part of why they don't bother Nomura much with the original story, they do not give a shit. Sora only has value as something they can sell, and that's it, why else do you think there next to ZERO representation to KH in the theme parks? Outside of one piss ugly Sora costume.
The one show they were going to make here >>717949385 got shot down at the pitch stage, because "apparently" they didn't want to interfer with Nomura's vision, which is corpo speak for "let them handle it, we don't want this as a legitmate part of our brand".
