The reason why Part 2 disappoints many is it just accentuates Denji's negative qualities. After Part 1 ended, you thought he was going to grow up and mature, but instead he became a shell of himself that's begging for suicide. Goes around in circles, makes the same mistakes. I'm sorry but people want to see a likable protagonist grow and change, not regress.
