on the contrary, non-smart tvs are widely in demand as advertising displays. they cost what they cost because that's the ACTUAL cost of the product, the android tv appshit they slap on home televisions to sell to golems at walmart literally pays for itself, improving the profit margin of the advertising display at least 2x so they can sell the same product at substantially higher volume for half the cost and still make 4x as much money.
