they hire the right director
they make a fantastic show and now they backpedal to appease equivalent of 4chan shitposters to specifically make a worse show for me and most western audiences.

Manga would be the worst choice. It has shit writing that's aimed at the reading level of children, visuals that are inferior to anime, and no music or voice acting.
