>the rest all either unobtrusive or actually good
The game itself calls out how obtrusive the frequent "pause the battle to have a character moment" conversations are. I liked the Mustadio and Alma interaction though.

Most of the new script inclusions are awkward compromises between wanting players to be able to hear more from their favorite characters, and not being able to make any changes more drastic than in-battle dialogue. So, Wiegraf calls Agrias out for House Oaks purchasing its nobility after the war, so we learn more about her background, but the moment is cheapened because they can't resist putting too fine a point on it ("You're rich, and that's why I hate you!"). That's a typical problem with the new dialogue.
Some of the new dialogue clarifies the plot, and I'm glad that helped some people. But there's also a completely new plot point about the Knights Templar planning to mass-produce auracite to start a demonic popular revolt? And most mentions of this are locked behind missable in-battle dialogue? So I don't know, I found most of the new dialogue kinda weird. At its best, it's merely harmless, kinda cute. But overall I think it's a miss. Cynically, you could say its inclusion was just meant to make long-time fans think the game was new enough to be worth buying again.
But hey, at least it gives us something to talk about!

>oh cool, Agrias and Wiegraf have dialogue now. I wonder what they talk about.
>"I HATE YOU BECAUSE YOUR FAMILY HAS MONEY!"
I would like the new dialogue more if they actually did more than just read their character sheets to each other. I already knew that Agrias was noble and proud, that Gaffgarion was a chauvinist, and that Wiegraf resented the aristocracy. Problem is, they cut the WotL cutscenes out, and there's only so much they can do with a few new lines stuck into the middle of battles.
Mustadio's interaction with Alma was kind of cute though.

Mayhap you forget, ser, that a historical period piece must needs employ anachronistic styles of speech.
