On one hand I respect the man's tenacity to be able to work on this single game for over a decade, even with all the hate and ridicule thrown towards him. On the other hand, it feels like a huge exercise in sunk cost fallacy. The man is completely dysfunctional and his behaviour gives off the impression of a covert narcissist, and it's clear that this entire project is him flying way too close to the sun. Continuing to put so much time into this game isn't something that's going to benefit him in the long run, and the healthier and more reasonable option would probably be to cut his losses and work on smaller, more manageable projects. But we all know he's never going to do that. I don't even hate him, I feel pity towards him.
