Honestly I like it. The Tau are much more meritocratic than the Imperium anyways so competent humans can rise to leadership positions, 2nd only to the Ethereals who are much more human than the Emperor and Primarchs ever were anyways. Plus having sex with aliens is the most human impulse there is and any empire that would deny it is certainly not "of man".
