Back in the 00s, for me fighting games were the only genre where i could play well drawn, cool, detailed anime characters with complicated movesets. Almost noting in other genres could compete, at most you had stuff like Tales of Eternia or (long untranslated) Tales of Destiny remake. I didn't give a shit about competitive scene, i simply dicked around.
But now we have a shitload of games that allow you to be a badass on screen doing cool shit. I don't need fighting games anymore, especially with online interactions.

real time raytracing is objectively better than any other solution, but even on high end hardware it's not spatially stable enough yet

Why the fuck would you ever want to go back to playing first person vidya on a monitor after experiencing games like Skyrim, Half Life, and Resident Evil in VR? Give me a single reason why you'd rather play Skyrim on a monitor instead of VR

Because any slight variation of impact at the surface effects the shape of the hole. Three pilots, each with two bombs. EVERYHTING must be perfect - and it NEVER is. You will never have the kind of repeatability you need to penetrate that deep. It would be far easier to simply run an extended bombing campaign with conventional bombs and just erase the mountain piece by piece over the course of a few days (like we did in Vietnam).
