I have never played nor even looked at any parts of shrift, is that actually true? what the heck are shrift harpies like? now that I think of it, I haven't even seen a harpy from that world, I didn't even know shrift actually had any.
Like given what little I do know about shrift from the thread I'm going to go ahead and assume that shrift!harpies are not the typical sort of Hapy Hapy Harpy that we know and love, and they are also probably not the beautiful and mischievous wind spirits who were known for stealing other's food and punishing evil as Servants of Ol' Zeus, but rather they are instead probably the "Horrid Bastard Child of a Giant Petrel and a Seagull" kind.
I really don't think I could actually imagine any of the Friendly Sweetheart Harpies living in that world, to be honest. But still that's just way out of left field to me. I never would've expected that.

But yes those are Oxy's Parents. She's not claiming that her parents are fish, they literally are fish.
this is the reason she hates Perili so much, because as you can imagine, a fisherman who also belongs to a completely piscivorous species (i.e, she can literally only eat fish and seafood, she can't eat nor likes anything else) enrages her.
